Biography

LaKeith Stanfield is a critically acclaimed actor known for his "chameleon-like" ability to inhabit complex, often enigmatic characters. He grew up in a fractured, low-income household and discovered acting at 14 through his high school drama club. Before his breakout, he worked diverse jobs, from roofing to AT&T sales, before reprising his role in the feature version of Short Term 12 (2013), which launched his career. Since then, Stanfield has become a leading voice in "New Hollywood," deliberately choosing roles that challenge Black stereotypes and humanize the Black experience. He gained global fame as the philosophical Darius in Atlanta and earned an Academy Award nomination for his portrayal of FBI informant William O'Neal in Judas and the Black Messiah. In early 2026, he reached a new milestone as a fashion icon, being named a global brand ambassador for Dior.
