Lynne Ramsay is a world-renowned Scottish filmmaker celebrated for her poetic, visual, and often visceral approach to cinema. Known for focusing on themes of grief, guilt, and the fragility of the human psyche, Ramsay has maintained a reputation for quality over quantity, directing only five feature films in nearly 30 years. After an eight-year hiatus following her acclaimed 2017 thriller You Were Never Really Here, Ramsay returned in 2025 with Die, My Love. The film, which stars Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, explores the psychological unraveling of a young mother in rural Montana. It premiered in competition at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and was released theatrically by Mubi in November 2025. As of February 2026, she is actively developing a new project set in her hometown of Glasgow, signaling a return to her roots.
