Biography
Patrick Joseph Wilson, born July 3, 1973 in Norfolk, Virginia, is an American actor, director, and producer. He moved to St. Petersburg, Florida while growing up, where he attended Shorecrest Preparatory School. Wilson earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University in 1995. He began his career on Broadway, receiving Tony nominations for his performances in The Full Monty (2000–2001) and Oklahoma! (2002). His early television work included the acclaimed miniseries Angels in America (2003), which earned him Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy nominations. In film, Wilson has shown range from The Phantom of the Opera (2004), Hard Candy (2005), Little Children (2006), to Watchmen (2009) and The A-Team (2010). He became widely known for horror roles, especially starring in the Insidious series (2010–2023) and playing Ed Warren in The Conjuring universe. In 2023 he made his directorial debut with Insidious: The Red Door. On television, his major roles include A Gifted Man and Fargo. He has been married to actress Dagmara Domińczyk since 2005 and they have two sons.
