Rebecca Calder is an English actress born in Consett, County Durham. She spent parts of her childhood in New Zealand and Australia, before returning to England at 19. Her career began on stage with performances at the Arcola Theatre in London, followed by roles in television dramas such as Casualty, Primeval, The Bill, Doctors and Hatfields & McCoys. Her film breakthrough came with Altar (2014), and she won Best Actress at the European Independent Film Festival and the Cardiff Independent Film Festival for Love Me Do in 2015. Since then, she has appeared in The Dark Mile, portrayed Coco Chanel in Genius: Picasso, and had a recurring role in I May Destroy You. Her work spans theatre, film and television, showing her ability to handle both genre roles and character-driven stories. She currently lives in London, where she continues to take on roles that challenge her range.
