Biography
Sheila Munyiva is an acclaimed Kenyan actress and film director. She first gained international recognition for her breakout role as Ziki in Rafiki (2018), a landmark Kenyan film directed by Wanuri Kahiu that became the first Kenyan feature screened at the Cannes Film Festival despite being banned in Kenya for its LGBTQ+ themes. She later appeared as Anna in the TV series Country Queen (2019) and voiced Shiro in Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire (2023). Wikipedia Munyiva studied film production after initially training as a news anchor, and she works as an actor, director, and mentor to young girls in Nairobi’s Kibera community.
