Melissa Kiplagat is a Kenyan actress and media professional known for her lead role as Akisa Musyoka in Country Queen — the first Kenyan series licensed on Netflix. She studied Economics at Brown University (class of 2013), but soon pivoted to acting, earning her Master’s in Performance (Acting) at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London in 2017. Over her career, she’s performed in over 17 plays (in Nairobi and London) and appeared in multiple TV shows including This Is Life and others. Beyond acting, she runs “Melissa Kiplagat Masterclasses (MKM)” to train upcoming actors and also works as a TV presenter.
