The 2025 AMVCAs delivered a mix of crowd-pleasers, bold storytelling and polished craft. It was a night that reminded everyone how much the industry has grown, with wins spread across drama, documentary, scripted series and unscripted formats. Many of the winning titles are already available on major streaming platforms, making it easy for viewers to dive into the projects that stood out this year.
One of the biggest highlights came from Seven Doors, which landed on Netflix with a strong showing. Chioma Akpotha and Femi Adebayo claimed the top acting awards in the drama categories, while Tolu Obanro earned recognition for the film’s score. It’s the kind of project that showcases confident performances and careful sound work, and it’s no surprise it became one of the night’s major winners.
Netflix also carried several other titles that had a strong outing. Farmer’s Bride earned Mercy Aigbe the award for Best Supporting Actress, while Inside Life took home Best Supporting Actor through Gabriel Afolayan and was named Best Scripted Series. Lisabi: The Uprising continued the platform’s sweep with wins in Indigenous Language (West Africa), Art Direction and Makeup, celebrating its cultural grounding and detailed world-building. Inkabi added to the collection with a win for Best Editing.
Prime Video wasn’t left out of the celebration. The Legend of the Vagabond (Queen of Lagos) secured Best Cinematography for its striking visual style, while Christmas in Lagos picked up Best Costume Design. Both films add to Prime Video’s growing library of Nigerian stories with strong creative voices. Suspicion also earned a well-deserved nod for Best Sound/Sound Design, affirming its technical polish.
Showmax and DStv held their own across scripted and unscripted categories. My Fairytale Wedding was recognised as the Best Scripted M-Net Original, and Nigerian Idol season 9 was named Best Unscripted M-Net Original. The platform also scored major wins with Wa Milele? (Forever?) taking Best Series (Unscripted) and Untying Kantai earning Best Writing for a TV series.
Documentary lovers can head to YouTube to watch Mai DùnDún, which won Best Documentary and remains one of the most accessible titles of this year’s winners. The short-film category followed a similar path, with Brukaci taking the award despite the full film not being publicly available yet. Viewers can only access trailers on YouTube for now.
A few notable titles aren’t online yet. Freedom Way, which won Best Writer (Movie) and the coveted Best Movie award, completed its cinema run in July/August 2025 but has not announced a streaming home. The Man Died, which earned Best Director, is also not available for public streaming, with only trailers in circulation.
This year’s lineup reflects a strong range of voices and genres, and many of the projects are already one click away. Whether you prefer dramas, documentaries, holiday stories or unscripted series, the 2025 AMVCA winners offer plenty to add to your watchlist.

If you’re looking to refresh your watchlist, these five Hollywood releases are the perfect mix of thrill, emotion, and craftsmanship.
