Born in Canton, Ohio, he honed his comedy skills with improv troupes like The Second City and The Groundlings. He gained early recognition for his role as Lloyd in the Get Smart film and its spin-off, as well as for his recurring roles in TV commercials (notably Capital One). He is perhaps best known globally as the voice of Officer Benjamin Clawhauser, the donut-loving cheetah in Disney's Oscar-winning film Zootopia (2016) and its sequel Zootopia 2 (2025).
